• European furniture – our best finds from
England, Scotland, France, and Belgium. We
have a couple fabulous Scotch chests, a French
flame mahogany sideboard with marble top,
another bow front chest with mother-of-pearl knobs –
yummy! We carry dining tables, sideboards, end
tables, gametables, benches, chairs, mirrors, etc…
• Silk Flowers – You won’t find a better selection of quality silks
at reasonable prices anywhere! Kate is a life long gardener
and knows what looks real. Due to our high volume sales, we
can sell the best the market has to offer, near prices you’d
expect at the discount box stores for their less acceptable silks.
We have roses with a hidden glass vial inside the bud, and
when crushed, it releases a heavenly rose scent! It's far better
than potpourri and lasts for months! Buy a container from us
(or bring one from home) and we’ll do a custom arrangement for
just the cost of the materials.
• Rugs-
See a few of the rug designs in the
shop right now!
We carry an interesting mix of Kilims,
Persians, and Oushak rugs. These
range in age from 60-100 yrs old. We
met our Turkish rug dealer, Necati, at
the Dallas Market. He is one warm
upstanding man. He’s been doing
shows for us for 5 yrs. now. We’re
proud of our friendship and
association with Necati and can tell you
with confidence, you’ll have a
wonderful selection of sizes, colors,
and designs at prices you can trust will
be fair. Local collectors always show
up and buy when Necati is with us and
if you want to learn about rugs, then
stop by and visit because Necati is
generous with his vast knowledge.
• Smalls – We love to bring a bit of nature into our
rooms, so we carry bird nests (some made by man, a
few made by birds) and real quail eggs. If your cat
keeps getting into your eggs, we sell glass cloches to
create a vignette we call, “Quail Under Glass”. Put the
whole thing on top of an antique cake stand and prop
an antique hand-colored bird print (circa 1840’s) on our
iron easel and “Voilà!”, your heart will sing (or at least
chirp).
• Lamps & Pillows – You'll
find a wide selection for most
any décor. A good tip on
updating a traditional room is
to add sleek contemporary
lighting, or bring the garden
indoors with a mossy finished
Italian iron lamp. How about
a red coral creation with a
black shade, a Barley twist
lamp for your English décor,
or a crusty urn with a brown
silk shade? I could go on and
on… And pillows!! We carry
sumptuous haori pillows
made of antique kimonos with
haori ties, needlepoint pillows
with pheasants, or dogs, or
flowers, old kilim pillows and
embroidery silks. Just come
see.
Candles - Candles, Candles everywere... You can buy candles in your grocery store and at any discount store... so why buy here?
|
Kate and Christy choose candles that are the best value for your money. Sometimes spending
more means you get better value, sometimes it doesn't. At Locust Grove you can depend on the
best candle value out there for your home and pocketbook.
The Voluspa line is a jar candle with an 85 hour burn time. Our clients tell us that this becomes the
candle they confidently light over and over.
The Pacifica line is colored pillars that look and smell great. The colors are amazing and will add
individuality to your rooms... with flair... even before you light them.
Stuck for a gift? Candles are always a hit. We have a group of women who buy candles for one
another at Locust Grove to celebrate every life event. They tell us that every time they light a gift
candle they remember to be grateful for each other. We loved that story!
• Jewelry – We have a large case filled with exquisite jewelry made or selected by Ann Shafer. You’ll love her unique combinations of Chinese turq- uoise, coral, carnelian, jasper, onyx & more, all using sterling components. How about an antique Tibetan pendant? You’ll drool over this case, but we’ll do the clean-up
Have something special coming up? Ask Ann to create a piece just for you. Explore jewelry values and designs

• Asian furniture – We have Chinese
imports as well as a great line of
Tibetan imports, we just love mixing in
a piece or two in most any room! We
have sideboards, Tibetan Daybed
Coffeetables, Tibetan winecabinets,
chairs, baskets & more.
• Art – we’re so picky it hurts! We buy antique
hand-colored lithos and wonderful old
photography whenever possible and reframe
them, when necessary. We love old
watercolors and oils, too. If it is a bird, dog or
horse – we buy it! If it is an old floral – it’s
ours. You’ll get weak-kneed when you see our
religious art and French cemetery crosses!
We fill in with the best reproductions we can
find, and carry several lines that mix so well
with our originals; it’s hard to tell the
difference, so just ask!
